Day 42 - The history of leggings!

One of my favorite clothes are the leggings. They go way back in history of clothing. They appeared in the 14th century in the form of two separate garments, worn by men throughout the whole period of the Renaissance. Also, in colder countries, people used to wear wool leggings underneath their clothes to keep them warm. There are the leggings that male ballet dancers still wear (and it is a rather peculiar sight, isn’t it?) and the cyclists’ leggings and so on and so forth.
I love them because they are versatile and very comfortable. Depending on their material they can be worn in a casual outfit or you can even go clubbing in them (leather or pvc or lycra leggings). And there is a new type of leggings lately, the jeggings, which comes from jeans+leggings. They are like skinny jeans but more comfortable and fitted. I don’t own any yet but I intend to very soon! ;)

  1. Lovely look girl! :)

I usually pair my leggings with long shirts or tunics, I think it's the most flattering way to wear them, since.. well, I don't exactly the most toned derriere! Lol!

  2. Thanks! I nice trick to make your derriere and legs look firm and slim is to wear tights underneath. And it keeps you warm too! ;)

  4. @ misirlou misirlou: Merci!
